Partner Ministries

At King’s Kids Home & School in Mityana, Uganda, children who have lost family support, are living in extreme poverty, or come from families unable to provide stable care because of crisis or hardship are provided a safe home, an education, and Christian discipleship. Their mission is centered on “creating change in aching communities” by raising children to become empowered, faith-filled leaders who will transform future generations in Uganda and beyond.

King’s Kids Ministries began in 2005 in the home of Robert and Esther Mponye. Moved by the extreme suffering of children and families in deep need in their community, they opened their home in faith to care for those with nowhere else to turn.

The ministry began with a newborn baby girl who had been abandoned in a latrine on the day she was born. After she was found, Robert and Esther welcomed her into their family and named her Grace. What started with one beautiful child has since grown into a ministry that has brought hope, care, and opportunity to hundreds of children in and around Mityana, Uganda.

Badru Kikawa’s life and ministry are shaped by his own experience of loss, faith, and perseverance. Orphaned as a child, he understands the importance of steady care, education, spiritual guidance, and the kind of love that helps a child believe he or she is not forgotten. Since first meeting Badru in 2007, we have watched him grow into a faithful Christian leader with a deep burden for children facing poverty, instability, and lack of family support. Today, he leads a school serving children in one of Kampala’s most difficult communities. His next step is to build a children’s home in the Kayunga District, creating a safe and nurturing place where children who lack stable care can be educated, discipled, and given the opportunity to thrive.
